Microsoft's 'Blue Screen of Death' Returns Global Outrage
Hey π
Youβre reading the weekly wrap-up Sunday newsletter of whatβs going on in the Indie-Hacking community on X.
This is our 6th edition of TwindiePoint.
Russel is talking about the client's newsletter he's growing on Reddit. π Reddit has great potential if you know how to use it. I personally opened multiple accounts there, but I don't know why my account got banned. π There's no secret hack; I watched YouTube videos, but they were of no use. πΉ Learning Reddit requires a great understanding of the platform. π§
The Reddit strategy continues to work with minimal unsubs for one of my clients @beehiiv newsletter.
Open rates have taken a hit, though, but it's too early to call why that might be. Will continue to A/B test subject lines.

Beehiiv, a newsletter platform, is creating a lot of hype and meeting users' needs. π Kanishka shared about his interview with a newsletter creator, saying that using Beehiiv Boost is like free money. πΈ If you subscribe to the premium subscription, then Beehiiv will pay for itself from revenue. Beehiiv's earnings have surpassed those of any other social media platform. π
The case study interviews at @beehiiv bring me a lot of joy since I get to hear firsthand how the platform helps users earn, grow, or simply connect with their audience.

Here's what some creators are saying:

Philipp Keller, a controversy creator, haha! π Tech is always about controversy because someone's favorite tools or tech stack are always disliked by someone else. There are always pros and cons to each choice. Check out this banger tweet post on why you should use Docker and why not. π
I don't see the point of docker:
VMs give maximum flexibility
Vercel/AWS Lambda gives max convenienceDocker is is this strange middle ground which only adds extra complexity π€

David, founder of 1000 Tools, is sharing their SEO performance, and the CTR is mind-blowing. π Experts say that to achieve this, you need category pages, top 10 lists, reviews, alternative pages, and comparison pages in your SaaS to reach a good CTR and rank high on Google. π
What SEO hacks would you do to @1000_tools to make this chart a hockey stick?

Ayush once again shared a really valuable post. π If you're a startup founder, you must follow this for the first 3 months: speak to at least 50 people to understand their pains, study 3-5 existing players to understand gaps, build 1 feature that fills the gap, get 5 people to try your product and give feedback, improve based on feedback, get testimonials, and post on Twitter, Hackernoon, Indiehacker, Reddit communities, and FB groups. π Launch it on Betalist and Product Hunt. π
First 3 months checklist for anyone starting out with their first startup idea.

I've been following this guy for more than a year, and he's my mutual follower. His SaaS, Snowball, crossed $1K in July. This is a really big milestone, and I'm happy to share it. ππ
Speechless π
My little SaaS, started 8 months ago, made almost $1k in July
and we're only halfway through.
Building a solid product is starting to pay off.

It's been almost a year that I've been following Morgan. I got to know him when he was launching on Product Hunt, and one of his products sponsored our newsletter's issue. Following his journey, this guy, almost alone through his efforts, has taken advantage of Product Hunt launches, SEO, community promotion from Facebook, and effective SEO strategies like creating landing pages for different use cases and giveaway campaigns as well. ππ
Over the past year, I've scaled FocuSee's revenue to $11710 per month.
This was achieved entirely through my own exploration and efforts.
If I can do it, so can you!

Greg the Great shared some excellent advice, as ever. π If you want to build a SaaS, find your audience, convert your audience through a newsletter into customers, and provide valuable SaaS so they will pay. Build affiliates and share revenue with creators. This is the blueprint for creating a profitable SaaS. ππ°
People are sick of SaaS subscriptions.
I know, I am.
The blueprint to create profitable SaaS startups in 2024/2025:
1. Build niche internet audience (faceless, personal brand)
2. Create lead magnets (templates, community)
3. Unbundle existing SaaS app (1 killer feature)

So, there was one guy who pushed updates at Microsoft, and everything went blue worldwide. Several Microsoft services were down, airports were affected, IT companies' Windows systems were down, payment systems were downβseveral things were down. The blue screen was the topic of Friday. That's why they say, "Don't push to production on Friday." π₯οΈπ΅βοΈπ
Most people using Windows machines woke up to Blue Screens of Death today.
It's going to be a different Friday at the office, for sure.
